The categorize purchases section allows the user to apply Macro and Micro categories to a receipt and line item detail respectively.

The macro category would be at the receipt level. For example, The Home Depot may be categorized as Home Maintenance and Safeway would be categorized Food/Groceries.

The micro category would be at the line item level. For example, at Super Wal-Mart, a customer may be able to purchase groceries, auto parts, and electronics. At the micro category level, each line item could be categorized to the specific category as chosen by the user.

All historical categories used are available in a drop down feature and new categories can be easily added.

An additional feature of the categorize purchases screen is the tax deductible button. This feature allows users to select entire receipts or individual line items as tax deductible items.
